UK Projects: 2014 to date

Designing and running seminars, briefings and workshops for newly appointed Local Government Chief Executives and Directors in the UK. Chief Executive Appraisals face to face and virtual, some of which included 360-degree appraisal systems. All appraisals involved working with the leader, politicians and the Chief Executive in reviewing performance and setting priorities for the future year. This work has been undertaken in England, Scotland and Wales. We have deep and wide experience of performance appraisal systems from design, implementation to review.

Mentoring Chief Executives and Directors in the four administrations (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and undertaking Service Reviews.

Northern Ireland

Capacity Building Specialist with Local Government Councils in Northern Ireland for the Northern Ireland Civil Service. The key task was to develop the capacity of leading councillors across Northern Ireland as they prepared for the launch of the 11 new councils in April 2015. The main focus of the new decentralised powers were integrated economic and physical planning, governance arrangements, community planning and corporate performance management systems.

Overseas Projects: 2011 to date

Kosovo

The key task was to work with the Ministry of Local Government Administration to strengthen and develop municipal government. Key themes were newly Elected Mayoral administrative structures, planning capacity, financial management, human resources, budget frameworks, service delivery and community engagement. The purpose was to strengthen policy and administrative capacities of the new decentralised municipalities. The municipalities have the same responsibilities as UK unitary authorities plus primary care.
