What we do

Beech Grove Associates provides a forum for continuing dialogue as well as continuous improvement of practice.

Governments around the world are facing a range of challenges in addressing the changing expectations, needs and demands of their citizens. Core to these challenges is the whole area of public sector reform. Included here are the setting up and delivering of service delivery reforms, new forms of governance, decentralised structures, competences and systems, to assist the operational capacity of government at all levels to respond openly and effectively to citizens, while increasing the capabilities for civil society participation and broader based partnership working.

The global financial crisis has reinforced the difficulties of fiscal and revenue mobilization in many transitional and developing countries. Achievement of the millennium development goals is even more of a challenge where resource allocation is further constrained or corruption is not fully addressed or a combination of both exist.

In the UK and internationally the CoVid Pandemic and Brexit in Europe: have resulted in different pressures on government, NHS and local government and all citizens. This can be seen in demographic change, spiralling healthcare costs, increased poverty levels and underfunded liabilities have placed government, local government and public agencies under unyielding fiscal pressure. The new ways of working are making it harder for government and agencies to plan for the long term. However plan one must, here are four key points to consider in the UK:

  • Build resilience
  • Optimise revenue collection
  • Improve the value of every £ spent on service delivery to the citizen
  • Implement digitalisation and automation

We can provide in a participative style:

  • Capacity building for people and their institutions
  • Democratic arrangements
  • Decentralisation
  • Learning and Development for local government politicians and officials
  • Programme and project management
  • Programme Evaluation
  • Delivering a customer service focus
  • Integrated Planning and Medium Term Budget Strategies
  • Community Planning and engagement
  • Coaching and mentoring assignments for individuals and teams
  • Development of new operating models

For the core members we are a trading organisation, otherwise a facilitator.
